The Unified Radiology Advocacy Committee (URAC)
By Standing Together, We Ensure That The Future Of Radiology Is Shaped By Radiologists.
Unified Radiology Members Stay Informed On Important Legislative Topics
In a time of changing healthcare mandates and evolving reimbursement models, it’s more important now than ever to help enlighten lawmakers about the negative effects that cuts and regulatory changes have on radiology. It takes a grassroots approach, involving as many strong, positive voices in our industry as possible. With that in mind, Unified Radiology established the Unified Radiology Advocacy Committee (URAC).
This committee, led by a subset of Unified Radiology members, meets virtually once a month and in person twice a year. By integrating the expertise of the American College of Radiology (ACR) and RADPAC’s Senior Director of Political Affairs, Ted Burnes, URAC ensures that our local efforts are aligned with national legislative strategies. All contributions on URAC’s behalf to RADPAC ensure that members stay at the forefront of radiology advocacy through “On the Hill” updates and a “call to action” platform accessible to all members. In addition, Ted Burnes assists member practices in hosting Members of Congress for site visits. Whether virtual or in person, these meetings let legislators see firsthand the technology, expertise, and vital community role our practices provide.
